You could Code
For those considering building the damn app yourself I support and commend you. Whatever happens it will be worth it. But you’re in for a world of pain to start. There seems to be no other way to learn programming than ass backwards. Resilience and creativity are the most important traits. It’s not necessary to be a superstar. Ultimately what’s most important is not the skill of the developer but the business problems their skills can solve. Of course, the more skilled you are the more you can accomplish and quicker. Nonetheless a laser focus on the problem to be solved is the most valuable.
Learning to code is easier than ever with AI. Human help is still needed though. Tribal knowledge, when a piece of crucial information lies only in someone’s head—hides all over the internet. If you’re in a company this is even truer.
Maintain intensity. Blocking out all other distractions for hours will compound much quicker than jumping around. Struggle, but not too much. Develop the intuition to ask for help. Any longer than a day per issue is demoralizing. Either ask for help or find a way to move on to something else.
Hope this is helpful.
