Worlds Best Folder Organization
No AI Needed
Having so many different AI accounts it’s hard to remember which ones I already asked is maddening. Tom, a friend started talking about using Obsidian to create folders of Markdown files of the questions to make them easily searchable. That wasn’t it. This was a me thing. With fifteen different note taking apps—another one wasn’t going to help.
Dropbox are trying to solve desktop chaos with AI. But computers have been trying to help us get organized for decades. Yet lateness to meetings is still rife, desktops are cluttered and important files stay in emails.
Cal Newport recommends a text file on desktop for frictionless input. The Apple Notes app is a better fit for me.
Tom’s advice got me thinking though. The one thing Notes is missing is Markdown support. So I Googled “Apple Notes Markdown” for the eighty sixth time and found ProNotes, which adds Markdown support into Apple Notes. Bingo. The cherry on the top without signing up for anything.
More on why ProNotes is a bigger innovation than Obsidian tomorrow.
