Why Toastmasters Works

The most statistically probable fear is public speaking. Toastmasters(a speaking group) understands this. At a visitor’s first meeting they are invited to speak at least twice. Subsequently, functionary roles are spread amongst the group members. Responsibilities have tiers. A newcomer can quickly grasp Grammarian or Ah-counter. More experienced attendees can tackle Evaluator or Table Topics. Don’t worry if these terms are meaningless. The point is, everyone gets a job.

Accomplished speakers advertise the program’s benefit. The better they are—the more everyone improves.

The energy at in-person meetings is palpable. Committed self-improvers create a high vibration and this alone is inspiring enough to keep going.
