The Equity Games
Never gonna give you up
Lots of startups give up equity without foresight. It seems like the only currency they have to work with. They may view it as a great deal. 30% of nothing is still nothing after all.
But you wouldn’t start building something if you didn’t believe in it. So what if it turned into a modest million dollar company. That means that 30% equity you gave away to get the app built is now worth $300K. Worse yet that person might be long gone.
Giving away equity is a guaranteed long term loss, the question is:
How big of a loss can you take?
