Rowing up the Ganges

Least favorite. Quality, communication and synchronizing were atrocious.

Time Zone

Mostly I’ve met with Indian developers late in the night for them. Even 8AM PST is 9:30PM there. I’ve heard of better sounding arrangement of Indians working earlier in the morning and meeting in the late afternoon California time.

Good

Not much.

Bad

• Lack of transparency around who is actually doing the work.

• Random developers appearing and disappearing, sometimes saying they are the same person.

• Poor quality, hackily Engineered to meet criteria.

• Lack of critical thinking skills. Needed specification outlined exactly.

Final Thoughts

Most of the horror stories I hear are about Indian Dev Shops. I’ve also heard glowing reports about a dev shop who became a part-owner of the business they’re building.
