Apology
Last week this newsletter said that non-technical founders don’t bring much to the table when looking for a CTO—and that they should bring a more collaborative spirit to the equation. Since a long feature list might overwhelm potential partners.
A reader brought to my attention that a CTO they talked with felt differently. They would find it exciting to work on a complex validated project to escape their daily drudgery. He also disliked my presumption that non-technical founders don’t carry their weight.
Fair point. I retract this statement and apologize. Non-technical founders bring a multitude of skills to the table.
Often, their contribution is more valuable.
