The level of hype around AI is unprecedented. The last two great software waves:
Dot Com Boom
Mobile Apps
Came at a time when the internet was far less ubiquitous than today. And nothing is a better hype machine or a better representation of the global conversation than the internet. The pace of growth in AI companies far outpaces the pace of these trends when they were at a similar stage.
Undoubtedly AI is at the forefront of technology and will be immensely valuable. Is it wise to be starting an AI company in this saturated of a market though?
Not mentioning AI in your pitch deck was seen as a cardinal sin last year. These days investors must be jaded by it. Perhaps instead of joining the AI tidal wave targeting a different market would be more successful. But what market could have more potential than AI to enter right now?
